Government Announces Compensation for Volunteers

In a surprising turn of events, the government has declared a revolutionary initiative recognizing the crucial role of sport volunteers across the nation. Starting on April 1, 2025, sport volunteers will receive non-taxable compensation of $25 per hour for their dedicated service. Additionally, each community sport organization is set to receive a bonus of $25,000 for each leader of any level of government they produce.

This unexpected announcement is a significant step forward in acknowledging the tireless efforts of sport volunteers who contribute their time and energy to fostering community well-being. To qualify for this groundbreaking initiative, community sport organizations must register by April 1, 2024, at SportVolunteerHub.ca
