We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist as in our “Leths Do It” Soccer tournament. Our "Leths Do it" soccer tournament aims to bring multiculturalism, diversity, and inclusivity in sport. This event will also offer fun developmental activities that promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive competition. On the final day, we will host a vibrant Multicultural and Diversity Expo/Picnic celebrating unity, diversity, and community spirit.
Booth Attendant
Responsibilities
- Greeting attendees, providing information about our organization,
- Distributing materials, and keeping the booth organized.
- A friendly attitude and good communication skills are essential.
Field Caretaker
Responsibilities
- Include collecting litter
- Assisting in maintenance
- Promoting environmental awareness among visitors.
First Aid Volunteer
Responsibilities
- Monitoring the health and safety of attendees,
- Responding to minor injuries
- Ensuring first aid supplies are stocked.
Media Team personnel
Responsibilities
- managing social media accounts
- capturing photos and videos, conducting interviews
- coordinating with media outlets.
Equipment manager/Operation Staff
Responsibilities
- Set up and dismantling of equipment before and after the tournament
- Include ensuring all equipment is in good condition,
- Tracking of equipment use and return
Assistant Referee
Responsibilities
- Assisting and helping the referee
- Assisting the referee by indicating fouls and misconduct that the referee may not have seen, particularly those occurring closer to the assistant referee's position. This includes flagging for fouls, handballs, and other infractions.
- Helping manage player substitutions by signaling when a team wishes to make a substitution and ensuring that the substitution is carried out correctly,
- Assisting the referee in determining whether a goal has been scored, especially if the referee's view is obstructed or if there is a question of whether the ball crossed the goal line.
- Assisting in monitoring activity in the penalty area, particularly during set pieces like corner kicks and free kicks, to help detect any infringements.
- Helping the referee manage the technical area by observing the behavior of team officials and substitutes to ensure they are adhering to the rules and not interfering with play.
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with the referee using signals and, if available, communication devices.
- Keeping up with play to ensure they are in the best position to make accurate decisions, particularly for offside calls and ball in/out of play situations.
Score Keeper
Responsibilities
- Accurately recording each goal scored, including the time of the goal and the player who scored it.
- Keeping track of player substitutions, including who is coming off and who is coming on, as well as any cautions (yellow cards) or expulsions (red cards) issued by the referee.
- Updating the scoreboard with the current score as goals are scored.
- Maintaining clear communication with the referee and other officials to ensure all events are accurately recorded.
Refreshments Handler
Responsibilities
- Preparing refreshment stations, ensuring cleanliness
- Providing excellent customer service to attendees.
Communications Assistant
Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up and testing communication equipment, including radios and microphones.
- Coordinate with media personnel to confirm their access and requirements..
- Act as the point of contact for media representatives, answering queries and facilitating interviews with players and coaches.
