- We are excited to announce that our annual event, SportFest will be taking place on June 7 at Servus Sports Centre! As always, we need volunteers to help us make this event a success. We have a variety of opportunities available, and we encourage you to reach out to us if you are interested in volunteering. Even if you don't see a job that appeals to you in the list below, we would be happy to find a role that suits your skills and interests. Here are some of the roles we are looking to fill: Setting up and taking down event equipment and signage (June 6 and 7); Assisting with exhibitor booths and activities 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday; Providing information and directions to guests; 6 volunteers for the Bike Rodeo for various jobs; 2 main-door greeters for guests to cover the entrance. This may be split into two shifts if 4 people show interest in volunteering; Several opportunities to volunteer as a mascot. These shifts will likely rotate as it gets pretty hot in the suits. 4 marshals for the various playing surfaces we will have available to secure the area and provide a safe environment for vendors to use. Marshals may also fill in at booths while their owner uses a playing surface (i.e., while the skating club is using the synthetic ice surface, the marshal would cover their information booth if needed); Tear-down post-event. Volunteering at SportFest is a great way to get involved in the community, meet new people, and have fun! We will provide you with all the training and support you need to make the most of this opportunity.
